  NWHS On Change.org
Source: NWHS

National Wildlife Humane Society has found additional internet presence on an emerging social site called Change.org. We received a cordial email advising us that our organization had been added to their non-profit member accounts. Since NWHS places so much focus on our own internet community, Wildlife Community Network, we were unaware of Change.org's community. We took a passing glance and saw a blank page with our name. Within a week, one of the active members of NWHS added us as "Supporter". We then took a closer look, activated the account and added graphics. Unlike Facebook, MySpace and other giant social communities, Change.org specializes in topical and pertinent social issues.

In an effort to increase public awareness, education and outreach, NWHS has pursued efforts to widen our presence on Change .org. There is a large number of members of Change.org and grows daily.

If you are a member of Change.org and would like to add NWHS (or you are interested in joining Change.org) ....

It is the descendant of a breed dating back three or four million years, of whom only 800 to 1000 are thought to have survived, making it makes it much more endangered than the giant Panda.

The wild Bactrian camels are shot for food by speculators who are illegally hunting for gold and....

NOAA Will Not List Two Spotted Seal Populations as Endangered or Threatened
Source: NOAA News

NOAA’s Fisheries Service today announced that two of three populations totaling more than 200,000 spotted seals in and near Alaska are not currently in danger of extinction or likely to become endangered in the foreseeable future. The announcement follows an 18-month status review.

However, NOAA is proposing to list a third smaller population of 3,300 seals off China and Russia as threatened.

“The northern two spotted seal populations exceed 200,000 individuals. We do not predict the expected fluctuations in sea ice will affect them enough to warrant listing at this....
